The Midge Award
Established in memory of Margaret “Midge” Reiners (1907-1999), the Midge Award is given to the graduating student whose character, determination, and quiet leadership best reflects the memory of Midge Reiners.
Candidates for the Yorktown Education Midge Award are nominated by faculty, staff and/or classmates based on the following criteria:
• Exemplary academic achievement
• Integrity and good citizenship
• Positive role model and well-respected by faculty and peers
• Advocate of Yorktown Education
• Community involvement
The purpose of the Midge Award is to encourage a higher level of achievement in leadership, academics, and community service, as well as to commemorate the life of a truly great individual.
Success in life demands more than just skill alone. It demands a positive attitude, an excellent work ethic, and a will to succeed, no matter how hard it can be. Quite simply, it demands character.
