Mya Hardee spent seven formative years at Yorktown Education, graduating with a perfect grade point average in June, 2020. She takes with her 36 completed college credits which she earned from Collin College and Brown University while attending Yorktown. She will attend Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, a small, selective liberal arts school, where she has received a $34,000 annual scholarship, totaling $136,000 after four years.
In her graduation speech, Mya spoke of the many friends and amazing teachers she has grown to know and love over the years at Yorktown. She recalls how she gained self-confidence and independence, learning to embrace challenges and achieve new skills to pave the way for future success. Because she felt supported and cared for at Yorktown, she was able to let go of concerns and embrace lifelong learning.
Mya’s parents have supported her efforts at Yorktown and contributed actively in school activities, school trips, and events. Mya Hardee is a prime example of a responsible student universally loved by her peers and teachers.
